Host Odisha captured three bronze medals in the 35th Junior National Taekwondo Championship, which was hosted by Odisha Taekwondo Association at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here from December 16 to 18.
Alisha Pattanaik and Loveleen Pattanaik won one bronze each in junior girls U-44 kg and U-55 kg categories respectively, while Anil Gouda claimed the other bronze in boys U-63 kg category. The 34th Senior National Taekwondo Championship was also staged simultaneously at the same venue.
Dispute between two parallel groups of the state body posed a threat to both the National championships as Gopal Chandra Roy, secretary of one state body filed a petition (IA No. 1/2015) in the Court of 3rd Addl Civil Judge Cuttack to stop the events. But the court rejected his Petition.
